This cake…

Has taught me a lot…

It has taught me that carrot cake (although very tasty) is not as dense as other cakes and complicates fondant…

It has taught me that using cream cheese icing (although it compliments carrot cake nicely) makes the fondant bubble and slip off the cake…

It has taught me that I will never use Rubber Cement to fuse 4 cake boards together (long story 😉 )

But, the birthday girl loved it – and that’s all that matters 🙂

In case you’re wondering, the theme behind it is Jessica Galbreth art. She makes some truly beautiful art. In the off-chance that she ever visits my little blog, I hope she thinks I’ve done her art some justice.

And my little witch lady turned out pretty good for my first figurine!

Although it was stressful and I made some mistakes, I learned some valuable lessons. Happy Birthday Sophie!
