Congratulations to the Saints!

In honor of the Super Bowl, I made some football cupcakes today! To be honest, I did like the Puppy Bowl better 🙂

Here’s what you’ll need:

12 cupcakes

2-3 cans of white frosting (set 1/3 aside for piping)

Green food coloring

1 box of Oreo cookies

8 oz of cream cheese

Milk Chocolate bark

To start, grab the 12 cupcakes of your choice. I made vanilla cupcakes, but you can use whatever kind you like.

Tint the white frosting green and use a #16 tip to pipe the grass. Touch the tip to the cupcake and slowly pull up, to make it look like grass.

Once you’re done piping the cupcakes, set them aside.

Now it’s time to make the little footballs. I used an idea from the lovely Bakerella 🙂

First, you’ll need to crush the Oreos. You can use a food processor or crush them in a bag.

Once the oreos are crushed, use a spatula to mix the oreos with the cream cheese.

Take the mixture and form little footballs. Put a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet and place the footballs on the cookies sheet.

I placed the footballs in the freezer to make sure they were nice and set. While the footballs harden, place the white frosting you set aside in a piping bag with a #3 tip. Melt the chocolate bark in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, checking it and stirring it every 30 minutes.

Place a toothpick in each football for easier dipping. Dip each football in the melted chocolate bark and place them on the cookie tray to dry.

Once the footballs are dry, use the piping bag of white frosting to pipe on the football decorations. When the decorations are dry, you can place your little footballs on your cupcakes!
